Noriko Tanigawa

I’m Noriko Tanigawa — a meditation guide, art teacher, and colored pencil artist.I’m deeply passionate about meditation as a path of self-connection and healing, and about teaching art as a gentle, grounding practice. Whether through meditation or creative work, my intention is always the same: to create a safe, supportive space where you can slow down, listen inward, and reconnect with yourself.

A GENTLE, TRAUMA-AWARE PRACTICE

My Approach

I approach meditation as a way to gently reconnect with the inner child, cultivate self-trust, and support deep inner healing. My guidance is invitational rather than prescriptive — there is no forcing, fixing, or striving.I do not attach my teachings to any specific religion, dogma, or spiritual system. Everything I share comes from lived experience, daily practice, and what I’ve learned through my own healing journey. I believe the wisdom we seek already lives within us, and meditation is a way to remember how to listen.

LIVED EXPERIENCE & CONTINUOUS STUDY

Experience & background

A Path Shaped by Life Itself

I am a student for life — and life has been, and always will be, my greatest teacher.
Everything I share comes from lived experience and from the humble wish to offer my younger self the guidance, compassion, and reassurance I once needed.
I don’t believe healing comes from fixing ourselves.
I believe it comes from learning how to stay — with our pain, our joy, and everything in between.

Spiritual Practice & Healing

I grew up without truly acknowledging my own traumas. For much of my adult life, I avoided them, outran them, and told myself I was “fine.”In August 2018, I reached a point where running was no longer possible. That moment — painful as it was — became the beginning of my healing. My meditation practice started simply:
ten minutes before sleep for a week.
Then ten minutes in the morning, too.
One small act of self-care at a time, I gave myself permission to pause. That pause became a refuge. And from there, my spiritual journey unfolded.

Along this path, my practice has included:

  • Daily meditation since 2018 — now a non-negotiable part of my life. Through this practice, I learned how to sit with my emotions, gently heal trauma, reconnect with my heart, and cultivate self-love from the inside out.

  • Deep immersive healing work (2021) — during a six-month period, I committed to an intensive healing process that included a minimum of four hours of daily meditation alongside weekly trauma-healing sessions with a practitioner. This immersive period taught me how to safely meet, process, and release stored trauma. Through this work, I not only experienced a profound personal awakening, but also learned how to continue trauma release practices independently, with discernment and care.

  • Self-guided study and practice in energy healing and Wim Hof Breathwork — tools that supported my continued healing and embodiment. I’ve been an avid practitioner since 2019.

  • Sharing through podcasts since 2024 — after years of imposter syndrome, I finally chose to share my voice. Growth was slow and humbling at first, but steady. Today, with over 50 episodes and listeners in 54 countries, I continue to heal alongside others — one meditation at a time.

Art & Teaching

Looking back, I can see that art was my first healer. It was my earliest safe place — a space free from judgment, expectation, or the need to perform. When my self-esteem was fragile and my confidence worn thin, art gave me a way to express what words could not.Teaching art became my way of giving back — of helping others reconnect with their own creative power and inner trust.

My artistic journey includes:

  • Beginning oil painting as a teenager — learning color, technique, and patience in a small evening class filled with retirees and passionate adult artists. Those early lessons quietly shaped my love for art.

  • Returning to art in 2012 — after years of putting myself last through marriage and parenting, I reclaimed creativity on my own terms and at my own pace. This journey eventually led me from painting to colored pencil work.

  • Teaching art since 2015 — without formal degrees, but with deep dedication. What began as two classes at a local art school grew into my own studio space, where I held a welcoming, encouraging environment for artists of all ages and experience levels.
